Kcee x OneRepublic "Ojapiano (Remix)" Music Video

Kcee is an international afro-fusion sensation, with chart-topping records. His latest hit “Ojapiano” which has over 100 million listens across all platforms. The vibe and success of the song caught the ear of OneRepublic, who wanted to bring the song to an American audience by collaborating on a feature.

We were approached by Kcee and his team to create a music video that could promote the new collaboration. The concept was simple: Afrobeat with Cowboys.

Filming in two locations to capture a spirited dance routine that included Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic was an incredible experience.

GRAMMY® nominated OneRepublic, is comprised of singer/songwriter and lead vocalist Ryan Tedder, guitarists Zach Filkins and Drew Brown, keys Brian Willett, bassist and cellist Brent Kutzle, and drummer Eddie Fisher. The band released their debut set Dreaming Out Loud in 2007. The release included the 20mm selling smash single “Apologize,” which shattered digital sales and airplay records worldwide and received a Grammy nomination. OneRepublic has amassed 5B streams on Spotify to date. Last Spring, OneRepublic released “Runaway,” the first new track the band has released since their smash hit, “I Ain’t Worried,” which was featured in the blockbuster hit, Top Gun: Maverick and currently boasts over 3 Billion streams.

Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, better known as Kcee, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was formerly in the Hip Hop duo group called Kc Presh. He is from Amaputu in Uli in Ihiala local government area in Anambra State Nigeria. He currently has a record deal with Five Star Music.

Our cast and crew were tasked to execute at a fast pace to cover as much ground with as much natural light as we navigated the various wardrobe changes, horses and choreography.

Amassing 1.6 million views on Youtube in two weeks, the video was a huge success, and ushered in a large swathe of both fanbases to engage in a celebration of cultures and sounds that felt like a victory lap for both artists careers to date.
